Are you facing unemployment? Information and instructions from the NJ Department of Labor and Workforce Development on filing a new or reopening an existing NJ Unemployment Insurance Claim.

JOB DISLOCATION

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) has compiled a free resource containing important financial and unemployment-related information for individuals facing a job loss. FINRA's Investor Alert, "Job Dislocation: Making Smart Financial Choices after a Job Loss," offers guidance and tips for the general public on taking the right financial steps in the event of unemployment; protecting against investment fraud during a period of job dislocation; understanding health insurance options; and asking the right questions about employer benefit plans.

NEW JERSEY CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION

The NJ Civil Service Commission links to job announcements in state, county, and municipal governments. The Commission also offers tips and techniques in understanding the job application process, orientation guides to help candidates prepare for examinations, and information on employee programs.

NJ Firefighter & Law Enforcement Examination Announcements

The NJ Civil Service Commission has announced the 2010 Examination for Firefighters. The application deadline is March 31, 2010.  Applications are available for download at http://info.csc.state.nj.us/Vats/PDFForms/12894.pdf
